Bubbles Car Spa Website

Built for drivers looking on a phone.

Bubbles Car Spa is a hand car wash and Coffee Lounge in Redhill, Surrey, trading since 2010. There is no booking: you drive in. We rebuilt their website as five pages around what a walk-in customer needs from a phone, and took over their Facebook and Instagram, including the adverts.

The brief

What Bubbles asked for

They came to us from a social media company that wasn't getting them seen, and needed a new website as well as someone to run their Facebook and Instagram.

Scope

What we did for Bubbles

  • Five-page website: home, services and prices, Coffee Lounge, about, and how to find them
  • Facebook and Instagram management
  • Facebook and Instagram adverts
  • Price tables, structured data and an AI-readable summary drawn from one price list
  • Cookie consent banner, with the Google map loading only when someone asks for it

Site structure

Five pages for a drive-in car wash

The Bubbles sitemap has five pages, and a privacy page sits outside it. Each page deals with something a driver wants settled before pulling off the road, from the price for their car to where to wait while it's washed.

Home

The Wash System table sets the Yellow, Blue and Orange specs against four vehicle sizes, small to extra large. Below it, the Signature Process runs through ten stages from Pre-Wash to Aero-Dry & Hand Buff, followed by six add-on treatments that range from an odour eliminator to a full valet.

Services and prices

All twelve wash prices, the extra services and eight questions the team gets asked at the till: booking ahead, how long a wash takes, what S, M, L and XL mean, the charge for a very dirty car, the free fifth wash, vans and engine bays. Each answer sits straight under its question, the format our piece on answer engine optimisation for London businesses recommends for voice and AI answers.

Coffee Lounge

A priced menu, from a £3.70 Americano to milkshakes and toast, with free Wi-Fi and the opening hours. The page says the lounge is open to everyone, wash or no wash.

About

The story since 2010, the team and five more answers, including how long a hand wash takes at Bubbles and whether you need to book.

Finding Bubbles

Directions start from the A23: onto Reading Arch Road, then the first right into the unit complex, with free parking on site. The page lists the hours and the places Bubbles serves, Redhill, Reigate, Horley and Gatwick. The Google map stays unloaded until someone presses Show the map, and a note by the button says that loading it sends their IP address to Google.

The build

One price list behind the Bubbles pages

Every package and add-on lives in a single data file in the Bubbles code. The homepage table, the services page, the structured data and the llms.txt file all read from it, so a price only ever changes in one place. That matters for search and AI answers too: Google, an AI assistant and a customer at the till all see the same figure.

Built in Astro

Five pages, each turned into plain HTML before anyone visits. The Google map and the analytics both wait for the visitor's say-so.

Schema markup

The homepage describes Bubbles as an AutoWash. The services page adds an OfferCatalog holding all twelve prices, three Service entries and the eight FAQs. The lounge is marked up as a CafeOrCoffeeShop, and the about and contact pages as AboutPage and ContactPage.

  • AutoWash

An llms.txt file

Written for AI tools: the address, phone number and hours, the price of each package for every vehicle size, how long the washes take, the minimum £15 excess dirt levy, the add-ons and the buy-four voucher offer. It states plainly that there's no booking, no contact form and no appointment system.

The screens

The Bubbles homepage on a laptop

At 1440 pixels the motto fills the left of the opening screen, and the call and directions bar still runs along the bottom, just as it does on a phone.

Bubbles on a phone

The number and the directions link stay pinned to the foot of every page, whichever section the driver has scrolled to.

Design decisions

Design choices on the Bubbles site

Call and directions on every screen

On a phone, a bar fixed to the bottom of every page holds the phone number and a directions link. The two things a walk-in customer needs are always one tap away.

Prices in the open

Every package is listed by vehicle size, small to extra large, instead of "call for a quote".

The Coffee Lounge gets its own space

The lounge is part of why people choose Bubbles, so it has its own section and page rather than a line in the footer.

Type that matches the sign

A wide display face and an orange accent carry the feel of the business into the site, set against plain white sections for the prices.

The trade

Building for a car wash that takes no bookings

A drive-in wash has no booking form to fill in, so the decision to visit gets made on a phone, often a few streets away. When I build for a business like this, the price for the driver's own car and the way in come first, and both stay within thumb reach. Everything else on the site, the ten-stage process included, is there for the driver who wants to know more.

Repeat visits count for as much as first ones, and a website can't do much about those on its own. For Bubbles the site works next to our social media management and Facebook and Instagram adverts, which keep the wash in front of local drivers between washes. The Bubbles Car Spa case study sets out the search data from the first sixteen weeks, the month clicks fell included.

Measured results

What Search Console shows

  • 1,480 Clicks from Google search
  • 20,500 Search impressions
  • 16 Weeks measured, from launch

In the client's words

"Since being with yourselves, we and our customers have noticed a vast improvement in traffic to our social media, and we've had a lot of good feedback from customers about our adverts, which we never had before. Customers have told us they found us on Facebook and Instagram, which never really got mentioned with the last company. I have found your company much more responsive. You answer all calls and communication and help with ideas to take our business forward. Yes, I would strongly recommend this company."

"Highly recommend RankLocal. I was apprehensive at first as had been let down with a previous agency I used, but went with the Growth Engine and the level of insight, professional development and web exposure obtained from this was way above my expectation. Dan is clearly very knowledgeable in this field and extremely proactive."

Elliot Boorman

"I had a site for my 1 man company for years that never really gained much traction so I decided to bring it up to date. Rank Local rebuilt the site and it looks so much better — modern and easier to navigate. I've already been contacted by people from the site so whatever they did, they did it right. Thanks again Dan."
