Google Business Profile
Management for London Businesses
Your Google Business Profile is the single most valuable local marketing asset you own — and most London businesses use about 20% of what it can actually do. I manage it properly:
categories, services, photos, posts, reviews, citations, and the ranking signals Google uses to decide who shows up in the map pack. Done-for-you, monthly, no long contracts.
For plumbers, electricians, builders, clinics, locksmiths and trades businesses across London, Surrey, Hertfordshire, Essex and Kent.
The Problem
Why Most London Businesses Are
Invisible in the Map Pack
When someone in your area searches "plumber near me" or "electrician Wandsworth" or "physio Sevenoaks", Google shows them three businesses in the map pack at the top of the results. Those three businesses get most of the calls. Everyone else gets scraps.
Getting into that map pack isn't luck. It's the output of about fifteen specific signals Google measures. Most London businesses I audit are losing on at least eight of those signals — and no one has ever told them, because their previous agency was too busy charging for "SEO" to fix the free asset that drives most of their local calls.

The Methodology
The 15 Signals Google Uses to Build the Map Pack
Most agencies treat GBP management as "filling out the form." That's why their clients sit at position 12 forever. The map pack is built on a measurable set of ranking signals — get most of them right and you move up.
1–5
Profile Signals
01Primary category match to query
02Secondary category coverage
03Profile completeness percentage
04Service area accuracy
05Service and product listings
6–10
Engagement Signals
06Review count and velocity
07Average star rating
08Review response rate and speed
09Photo upload frequency and recency
10Google post frequency
11–15
Authority Signals
11NAP consistency across citations
12Citation count and quality
13Linked website authority and relevance
14Schema markup on the linked website
15Proximity to searcher (the only one you can't control)
I work on the fourteen you can control. The proximity signal then takes care of itself for searches within your service area.
Industries I work with
GBP Management Built Around Your Industry
A plumber's profile needs different categories, photos, and review prompts than a physio clinic's. A roofer needs different post content than a locksmith. I only work with local businesses — so I know what each industry needs.
If your profile has been suspended, you're losing customers every single day it's offline. Don't panic — and don't post anything new to the profile while it's suspended, as this often makes things worse.
I handle GBP suspension reinstatement as a separate service. The process is methodical: identify the likely cause, prepare the reinstatement appeal with the right documentation, submit through the correct channel, and follow up until it's resolved. Most suspensions are reinstated within 5–14 days when the appeal is built properly.

Common Questions
Google Business Profile Management — Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Google Business Profile, Google My Business, and GMB?
They're all the same product. Google renamed 'Google My Business' to 'Google Business Profile' in late 2021. 'GMB' is the old shorthand that most people still use. Whatever you call it, it's the free Google listing that shows up in Google Search and Google Maps when someone searches for a local business.
How much does GBP management cost in London?
Done-for-you GBP management starts at a fixed monthly rate that's transparent and quoted upfront. It's substantially less than a single Google Ads campaign and typically pays for itself within the first month from one or two extra map pack calls. See the pricing page for the current rates.
How long does it take to see results from GBP management?
The setup and optimisation work happens in the first 30 days. Visible ranking movement in the map pack usually starts within 30–60 days. Sustained top-three positioning takes 3–6 months depending on how competitive your area and category are.
Will I get into the Google map pack?
Honest answer: it depends on your category, your area, and how aggressively your competitors are managing their own profiles. For most London trades and clinics within a 3–5 mile search radius, top-three positioning is realistic within 3–6 months of proper management. For ultra-competitive categories in central London, it takes longer and may require ongoing GBP work plus on-page SEO and Google Ads. The Free GBP Audit will tell you honestly which situation you're in.
Can you help if my Google Business Profile is suspended?
Yes. GBP suspension recovery is handled as a separate service. Most suspensions are reinstated within 5–14 days when the appeal is built properly. Don't post new content to the suspended profile in the meantime — it often makes things worse. Get in touch and I'll review your case.
Do I have to give you my Google login?
No. You add me as a manager on your profile, and I work from my own Google account. You keep ownership and can remove me at any time with one click. Your login stays with you.
Do you respond to bad reviews?
Yes. Every review is responded to within 24 hours, written in your tone, focused on resolving the issue publicly. A well-handled negative review often does more for your reputation than a glowing five-star one — because future customers see how you handle problems.
Can you remove fake or malicious reviews?
Sometimes. Google's review removal process is strict and only certain categories of review actually qualify — spam, conflict of interest, hate speech, off-topic, restricted content. Reviews you simply disagree with rarely get removed. I'll attempt removal for any review that genuinely violates Google's policies, but won't make false promises about reviews that don't.
Do I need a website for GBP management to work?
You don't strictly need one — but you'll get much better results with one. Your Google Business Profile and your website work together as a system. If you don't have a site yet, or yours is holding you back, the web design service covers it.
Do you only work with London businesses?
No. I work with businesses across Greater London and the Home Counties — Surrey, Hertfordshire, Essex and Kent. Most clients serve a specific borough or town.
Is GBP management worth it for a small business?
For most local trades, clinics, and service businesses — yes, this is the highest-ROI marketing investment available. The Google Business Profile is free, and the map pack is where most local customers find local businesses now. Done properly, it generates more calls than any other channel for most small businesses. Done badly or ignored, it's a competitor's open goal.
