Free SEO Audit —
Manual Review
in 24 Hours

Most "free SEO audits" are automated PDFs designed to scare you into a contract. This one is different. I spend around 45 minutes manually reviewing your website, your Google Business Profile, your local search visibility, and your AI search readiness — then send you a written report by email. No sales call. No pitch at the end. If everything looks fine, I'll tell you that.

The problem with free audits

Why Most Free SEO Audits Are a Waste of Everyone's Time

You've probably already requested a "free SEO audit" from one or two agencies. You know how it goes.

A form fires off an automated PDF — usually from a white-label tool like SEMrush, Ahrefs, or one of the cheaper alternatives. It tells you your site has 247 issues. Some of them are real. Most of them are nonsense. The PDF includes a recommended action plan that conveniently matches that agency's £2,000/month retainer.

Three days later someone from sales calls. Then someone else from sales calls. Then you get added to an email sequence.

That's not an audit. That's lead bait.

What's covered

What's Actually In Your Free SEO Audit

The Visibility Snapshot covers six specific areas of your business's online presence. Each section is reviewed manually — not by a tool. The output is one written document, sent by email, that you can read in about ten minutes.

01

Website Foundation

Speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, technical SEO, indexability, structured data, on-page basics. The foundation work Google measures before it even thinks about ranking your content.

02

Google Business Profile

Profile completeness, primary and secondary categories, review velocity and response rate, photo and post activity, NAP consistency, and your current map pack position for your top local searches.

03

Local Search Visibility

Where you currently rank versus your top three local competitors for the searches that actually drive calls. Not vanity keywords — the high-intent ones that produce enquiries.

04

AI Search Readiness

Whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews can find your business and cite you as the answer when someone in your area asks for a recommendation. Most London businesses score zero here. The few that don't have a massive head start.

05

Conversion Tracking

Whether you can actually measure the leads your website generates. If your tracking is broken, you have no idea what's working — and you're paying for marketing decisions made in the dark.

06

Google Ads Readiness

If you're running ads or thinking about running ads, whether your landing pages, tracking, and conversion paths are set up to make those ads pay back. A lot of ad budget gets wasted on sites that can't convert the clicks.

Your report

What Lands in Your Inbox

One written document. Plain English. No jargon you have to Google.

It will tell you:

  • What's working well — the things you don't need to touch
  • What's broken — ranked by how much it's costing you
  • What's missing — opportunities your competitors are already taking
  • The one specific thing I'd fix first — because everything else can wait until that's done

You'll get it by email within 24 hours of submitting the form. There's no follow-up call unless you ask for one. There's no email sequence. If you read the report and decide RankLocal isn't the right fit, that's a perfectly reasonable outcome — and you've still got a free audit you can use to brief whoever you do hire.

Right fit?

Who the Free SEO Audit Is For

This is right for you if:

  • You run a local business in London or the Home Counties (Surrey, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent)
  • You've been paying an SEO agency for months and don't really know what they're doing
  • A competitor with a worse website than yours outranks you on everything
  • You've spent money on Google Ads and got very little back
  • You know you should be doing something about SEO but you don't know what or who to trust
  • You're about to commit to an agency contract and want a second opinion first

Probably not the right fit if:

  • You run an ecommerce business or a national brand — I work with local businesses, almost exclusively
  • You're outside the UK
  • You're looking for someone to validate a decision you've already made — I'll tell you honestly what I see, even if it's not what you want to hear

The process

How the Free Audit Actually Works

01

You send three things

Your name, email, and website URL. That's it. No phone number, no company size dropdown, no "what's your monthly marketing budget" question. Three fields.

02

I do the work

I spend around 45 minutes manually reviewing the six areas above. I look at your site, your Google Business Profile, your map pack positions, your competitors, your AI search visibility, your tracking setup. Then I write up what I find.

03

You get the report

Within 24 hours, you get a written document by email. Read it whenever suits you.

04

You decide what to do next

If the foundations are weak, you might want a one-time Foundation Fix project. If they're solid and you want to push for growth, monthly SEO might make sense. If everything looks fine — and sometimes it does — I'll tell you that and we both move on with our lives. No pressure either way.

Honest answer

Why I Give This Away for Free

Two reasons.

First — most of the businesses I audit don't actually need a full retainer. They need one or two specific things fixed. The Snapshot tells them which things, and they can decide whether to fix those things themselves or hire someone to do it. Either is fine. The cost of the audit to me is 45 minutes of focused work, and the goodwill it builds is worth far more than the time.

Second — most agencies dress up an automated tool as "expertise" and use it to bully business owners into contracts they don't need. That's the opposite of how I want to work. The honest audit is the lead magnet, the antidote, and the marketing — all in one.

If we end up working together after the audit, great. If we don't, you've still got a clear picture of where you stand. That's the deal.

Common Questions

Free SEO Audit — Frequently Asked Questions

Is the SEO audit really free?
Yes. No payment, no card, no trial. You give me your name, email, and website URL. I send you a written audit within 24 hours. That's the entire transaction.
What's the catch?
There isn't one. I get paid by the businesses I end up working with after the audit. Most audits don't convert into work — and that's fine. The audit pays for itself in goodwill and referrals over time. If you read the report and decide RankLocal isn't the right fit for you, no one will chase you.
How is this different from the automated SEO audits other agencies offer?
Other agencies plug your URL into a tool like SEMrush or Ahrefs and email you the PDF the tool generates. That takes 30 seconds and tells you nothing useful. The Visibility Snapshot is 45 minutes of manual work by one person — me — looking at your site, your Google profile, your competitors, and your AI search visibility in the context of your specific market.
How long does it take to get the audit back?
Within 24 hours of submitting the form. Sometimes faster, depending on the queue. You'll get an email confirmation when the request comes in.
Will you call me to follow up?
No. The report is delivered by email and that's the end of the interaction unless you choose to reply. There's no automated sequence, no sales call booked into your calendar, no chasing.
Do you only audit websites in London?
Primarily London and the Home Counties — Surrey, Hertfordshire, Essex and Kent — because that's where I work. I'll audit UK businesses outside that area too, but I won't take them on as ongoing clients, so the audit will focus on what you can act on yourself.
What if my website is brand new or I don't have one yet?
The audit works best on sites that have been live for at least 3 months — there needs to be enough data for me to actually review. If your site is brand new or you don't have one, get in touch directly and I'll tell you what I can do.
Do I need to give you access to my Google Analytics or Search Console?
No. The audit is done from publicly available data and the tools I use myself. You don't need to give me access to anything.
Will the audit tell me how much SEO will cost?
The audit tells you what your business needs, not what it will cost — those are separate conversations. If you want pricing after reading the report, you can request a quote then, with no obligation.
What if my site is in really bad shape — will the audit just be a list of everything that's wrong?
No. The whole point is to give you a clear priority — the one thing to fix first — not to hand you a 50-page list of problems. If your site has serious issues, the audit will say so plainly and tell you which one to address first. The rest can wait.
Can I share the audit with my current agency or web developer?
Yes, absolutely. The report is yours. Share it, forward it, print it, ignore it — it's your document.
